The short version
- All race entries are non-refundable. No exceptions, no partial refunds — this applies to every distance and to all add-ons.
- Deferrals: the 2027 deferral window and deadline will be posted here before race weekend. A deferral rolls your entry to the next year’s race, same distance.
- Bib transfers: the 2027 transfer deadline will be posted here too. The new runner must re-register under their own name with their own emergency info — never run under someone else’s bib.
- For reference: in 2026 both deferrals and transfers closed on September 10.

Why there is a cutoff
By the cutoff we’ve already ordered your race shirt, chip-timed bib, and your custom made finisher medal — the medal every finisher earns at the line. (Maasai artisans make both the finisher medal and the age-group medallions.) Once those orders are placed, we can’t reassign or roll entries forward.
If we have to change the event
Racing at 7,000 feet means weather gets a vote. If conditions ever force us to modify, delay, or cancel for safety, we’ll email every registered runner immediately and post updates on this site and our social channels. Event changes made for safety do not alter the refund policy above.
