The short version
Race entries are non-refundable. But we get it — life happens between registration day and race day. If you can’t make it, you have two options, both free, both available up to two weeks before race day (September 6, 2026):
- Defer to next year. Roll your entry to the following year’s race. Same distance, same excitement, twelve more months to train.
- Transfer your bib. Give or sell your entry to another runner. They race under their own name with their own emergency info — never run under someone else’s bib.
How to defer or transfer
Both are handled through your RunSignup registration — log in, find your registration, and choose defer or transfer. Stuck? Email us at info@santafehalfmarathon.com and we’ll sort it out.
After September 6
In the final two weeks we’ve already ordered your shirt, chip-timed bib, and that hand-thrown ceramic medal — so deferrals and transfers close. No-shows can’t be rolled forward.
If we have to change the event
Racing at 7,000 feet means weather gets a vote. If conditions ever force us to modify, delay, or cancel for safety, we’ll email every registered runner immediately and post updates on this site and our social channels.
